Hey Everyone!!
Well, August has left and September is now here! To be honest I can´t believe that this is the second football season that I am missing, hahaha. It´s great to hear that Wisconsin beat LSU! I wish that I could have seen that game in Lambeau Field. But it´s all good over here in Lima Peru!!
This week I was able to run into my papa in the mission, Elder Martinez, for the last time. Next week he ends his mission and as well as many other companions of mine, it´s kind of weird, hahaha. But it was good to talk to him and one of our converts, Ana Malasquez, came to Plaza Norte and it was a neat experience there and talking to them!! Something exciting is that in Metro they have Mountain Dew but only of code red, but that was the first time that I had that in almost a year and a half, hahahaha.
This week we are hitting our stride. We are having much more success! This Monday, we had some family home evenings and they were excellent! I felt the Spirit so strong with the parents and just was really cool. The way that they looked at me when I was teaching is something that is engraved in my mind and won´t forget.
We had a meeting this last week with President Godfrey for the zone and afterwards I was so inspired, it´s like the visitations that Joseph Smith had with Moroni. How edifying it was.
We have been able to work a ton with the members and I love this ward! The ward is progressing so much and there is an excitement!!
This week has been another great week, feeling my personal progress and I really feel the Spirit! I love you so much and I pray for you!!

Hey Everyone!
I hope that everyone is doing great! Well it has been a good week, a fast one like always. I would love to give a big shout out for John and the BIRTHDAY BOY! I hope that you had a great day, and have a great year, and in your next B-day you will be in the mission!!!
Well everything is doing good, enjoying the guide of the Spirit and it´s sweet! This last week I have been praying for the miracles of finding the people that have been praying to God for His help. And in this last week, I have encountered many experiences that I will never forget. I really felt the direction from the Spirit and after teaching many new investigators, they told me that about 10 minutes before they were praying to God to send someone. It has been really humbling and fortifying my testimony that there are prepared children of God that need our help and are willing to change, it´s just that we need to leave our comfort zone. I love the parable of the talents and applying that to my life (Matthew 25). I feel that we all can do that!
This last week I did a work visit to Magnolias and I was with Elder Weaver and it was remarkable! I was able to see and visit some of my converts and that was a feeling that I will never forget, the joy and happiness for them! And also some members from Wiesse came and I was able to be with them for a little time and catching up with them was the same experience! It makes me think for after the mission and coming back to visit everyone. They, the converts, really become part of me and I am so grateful for the chance to be able to teach here and meet these wonderful people!!
Well sorry that this week´s letter has been short but there isn´t much more than the normal missionary work hahaha.
I love you all and pray for you!!

Elder Langfoss

A big hello to everyone!
This week has been a quick and good week! We started off really good. On Monday we went to plaza Norte and there was like four zones there and many old companions and friends were there! It was pretty cool hanging out with them. I was able to go to the car dealership underneath with Elder Von Gunten and that was fun talking about cars.
On Tuesday, we had a Multi Zone and that was really spiritual! It was the first one with President Godfrey and he really changed it up. We were able to hear from him and how we can get better as missionaries and our teachings. Sister Godfrey is really sweet, doesn`t know much Spanish but is really improving on it. We did many practices and we ate some good old sloppy joes! I haven`t had that since Gram and Papa hahaha. It was really delicious but nothing like Grams! After lunch is when my companion and I gave trainings and it was really cool! Our zone is pretty sweet! After the zone part we got back together and we discussed even more with President. We didn`t get out to teach until much later than normal.
The next day in the morning we had a special time with Pres. Godfrey and other ZL. It was for four hours of just practices. It was really good and spiritual. Pres. Godfrey teaches in such a spiritual aspect; he definitely is my example! Then during the week, we had work visits and I was with Elder Laura, he`s just like a little iguana hahaha. But it was cool!
We moved rooms, same house but only a different room. There is so much more light, it`s beautiful! The days are getting sunnier as we are now exiting winter here and I always love the sun!
On Saturday we were able to baptize Marisol and that was really cool. She is a pretty awesome person and has the true heart to come unto Christ. And then on Sunday, at church I gave a talk. It was really good and I really captured the attention of the ward! I talked about service and I was pretty good. It`s weird, like a year and half ago that I used to get so nervous in front of people but now it`s like nothing and talking in a different language. At times I forget just how much I have progress, until a step back and look and it`s remarkable!
Well, those have been the highlight of this week! I love you and pray for you!!

Elder Langfoss

Hey Everyone!
I hope this week has been good for you guys! We saw a miracle this last week. It has flown past. My companion is alright, there has been some struggles but we are working things out. We are excited to work and we are seeing many fruits!
We did what President Godfrey said in his letter last Monday about miracles and we prayed to know which members we should to find references that will progress. We were walking and there was a member that was hanging up a sign in front of their house. We went over to help him and as we were helping, his niece started talking to us. It turns out that she is a less active for a long time and she accepted the invitation of teaching her and her family. As it turns out, it was a PF and they are married and have three kids! They were extremely excited to here our message and we know that it was a miracle from God that he trusted us to give us this family to teach!!
There have been many other spiritual experiences. For example, there is this woman that has listened to missionaries for a long time and almost everyone in her family is member but she isn´t. Last week we taught her by listening to her and helping her understand what God has for her. She went to church, the first time in her life. This week we did the same but taught her the Plan of Salvation, and she has accepted a baptismal date. She is really awesome and are looking forward to helping her come unto Christ. Her daughter and her son in law is the same story and they are preparing to be baptized as well for that day. It was pretty cool! Also we are baptizing a woman this Saturday, Marisol, and it is so funny because she is like 45 and single, and as it turns out our mission leader is the same age and were best friends in high school and he is single too. It is so funny because everyone is the ward is preparing their marriage hahahaha. But it´s pretty cool.
This last week we taught a family, family Gonsalez. The husband, Marco, is doesn´t believe in anything divine. It was something different because everyone here says that they believe in God and Christ but here there wasn´t any basic knowledge or beliefs. But I felt the Spirit so strong in that lesson and we taught with so much power and authority but also love! And what’s awesome is that he progressing and is keeping up his commitments. But while with him, I feel something different that I was called here to teach him especially!
So many things have happened, many more spiritual experiences but I can only write this much!! But something cool is that the mission gave me a new bed, and WOW is it amazing!!! It´s a really nice bed, and it has been 17 months since I have slept that good!!! So yeah that´s also something new hahahaha. But I love you guys!!!!
Love,

Dear family and friends,
Well we have now officially entered August and I am now approaching my seventeenth month in the mission. In this transfer I will hit my good 18 months in the mission! Time is a blur and this last week we had changes. I mentioned a little what happened with my last companion and also who will be my new companion, I might repeat myself I guess hahaha. But this week we had changes, we had a mission council with President Godfrey, and we are seeing success!
So I got to meet my new companion, his name is Elder Sanjuan and he is really awesome! His has nine months in the mission and is in the same group as my kid, Elder Saenz. He is 19 years old and is from Barranquilla, Colombia. Yes, he is from the same place as Carlos. It´s pretty cool and he looks and reminds me a lot of Carlos! He has a heck a lot of energy and is really eager to work. This last week, we did just that and it was pretty awesome, we are finding and helping a lot of people to repent and come unto Christ. Our area is pretty big but the ridiculous thing is just how many less actives there are in this ward, or in our area. They combined two wards and we are the part that’s high up there. In our area, there are four active families that attend church, but there are 800 members in our area. So I guess you see the picture hahaha. We are working hard with the ward to find families to complete and reactivate many people!!
On Thursday we had a council with President Godfrey and it was excellent. He is making many, many changes but these changes are really helping out the mission. He is putting much more responsibility on the missionaries and is trusting in them. The missionaries are really excited to work and find solutions on how to help build up the kingdom of God here is this part of the world. Elder Von Gunten was there and we had fun catching up and getting some car talk hahahaha! But this week has been very successful and I am truly enjoying myself in the Lords work!
Attached is a picture of Elder Sanjuan, Fedora (pentionista), and I after church yesterday!
I love each one of you!!!
Love,
Elder Langfoss
